WKU Online is partnering with the WKU Counseling and Testing Center (CTC) to produce a series of videos for online learners. The videos will cover topics such as grief, depression, anxiety, and other issues. This is a joint effort between Instructional Design (Andrew Swanson), the Technology Resource Center (Julie Taylor), WKU Online (Holly Young), and counselors at the CTC.
The series will be used in the WKUCARES organization in Blackboard and is part of Coaching for Academic Readiness and Excellence (CARE), a success coaching program for WKU Online students. The goal of CARE is to help students garner skills to help them achieve their goals through resources that improve time management skills, proactivity, goal-setting, effective study habits, successful test taking and more. The program is recommended for students enrolled in online or hybrid programs.
Through CARE, students can meet with their student success coach through email, phone, text, or even Skype. By participating in CARE, students have easy access to resources to help them stay on track, including tips for using the library at a distance, writing assistance, and more. Students can also interact with staff and other students, providing an expanded network of support.
